Kimberly Williams & Siegfried Bleher are partners in life & yoga. They have been teaching Iyengar yogar since 1995 in Morgantown and nearby towns, and are both certified Iyengar Yoga teachers. Their training includes two trips to India to study with the Iyengars, ongoing training with Senior Iyengar Yoga teachers in the US and Canada, and several ten-day meditation retreats.

Kimberly holds a Ph.D. in Medical Science and is Assistant Research Professor at WVU Health Sciences Center. She is currently undertaking an NIH sponsored research study addressing the effectiveness of yoga therapy on low back pain. Kimberly is a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher. She has published results of a pilot study on this work (in International Journal of Yoga Therapy), as well as research on the effectiveness of mindfulness based meditation on stress.

Siegfried has a Ph.D. in physics and teaches physics on occasion at WVU. He will be teaching a course on Yoga Philosophy through the Department of Philosophy and the Program for Religious Studies at WVU in Spring 2007.  Siegfried is an Intermediate Junior I certified Iyengar yoga teacher.  He has recently written an article on the Transformative Nature of Yoga from the perspective of physics, published in Yoga Rahasya (the quarterly publication of the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune, India).

 

Lillian Waugh has a Ph.D. in History, and her pre-retirement background is in Women's Studies, History, and Domestic Violence/Rape Crisis work. She has been a yoga student at Inner Life Yoga Studio since Jan '96. And Lillian has assisted in the yoga therapy classes since 2000.


 

Auvid Momen recently completed undergraduate studies concentrating in biology, anthropology, and French at WVU.  She is a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance (200 hours) and is an apprentice teacher at Inner Life Yoga Studio.  Having first studied and taught vinyasa yoga for a few years, Auvid has been a student at ILYS since Jan '04.  She plans to begin medical school at WVU in Fall 2007.

 

Rives has eight years of training in chinese martial arts, including Chi Lin Ch'uan Fa Kung Fu, Cheng style and Yin style Bagua, and Wu style T'ai Chi Ch'uan,and two and a half years and ongoing T'ai Chi and Bagua training directly with Master Zhang Yun, President of the Yin Cheng Gong Fa Association NA.  Rives has three years experience teaching adults and kids Kung Fu, Bagua adn T'ai Chi.
